Our History
Dentistry spans three generations of the Daley family. The founder was my Grandfather T.F. Daley, a qualified engineer who took up dentistry after the First World War and was first registered with the General Dental Council on 10th August 1922.
He practiced in the family house at 213 Prescot Road near Newsham Park and subsequently opened practices in the 1930’s and 40’s at Broadway in Norris Green, Belmont Road in Anfield and Dinas Lane in Huyton, as well as having his own large dental laboratory in a house that would become the future family home.
Three of his sons became dentists:
T.A. Daley (my Father) qualified in 1951 from Liverpool University after taking the Second World War years out in the Royal Navy. He subsequently ran the Prescot Road and Belmont Road surgeries.
P.B. Daley (Uncle) qualified in 1946 again from Liverpool University and ran the Dinas Lane surgery.
G.L. Daley (Uncle) qualified in 1948 from Liverpool University, ran the Broadway Practice-and became the president of the British Dental Association in 1983.
Up to the present day there are two third generation Daley dentists:
T.C. Daley (my Brother) qualified from Liverpool University in 1972 and runs his own practice in Latham Court just round the corner from the original family house/practice in Prescot Road. His wife Linda who qualified from Liverpool University in 1973 was also a dentist.
N.D. Daley (myself) qualified in 1982 from Liverpool University and worked for the first two years at the Belmont Road/Prescot Road surgeries. I took over the running of the Broadway Practice in 1984 from my Uncle. In 1995 I expanded the practice by taking over at 107 Townsend Avenue just across the road from the Broadway Practice from Mr. R. Class and after major refurbishment amalgamated both practices at that address. In 2002 I added Mr. K. Keily’s Practice at 385A Eaton Road, West Derby and after 5 years relocated to our new premises at 409 Eaton Road again very close by, re-branding the practice to the original family name. My Wife Francesca qualified in 1980 from Liverpool University and currently works part time in the community dental service.
